An artist manager’s perspective + real tips (without the bullshit)
This article comes as a presentation of my findings while working as an artist manager for emerging artists and also as a reaction to the various unhelpful, unpractical tips around the internet on how to be an artist.

Vanessa Souli is an artist manager, consultant, writer and curator based in Berlin. She holds a B.A. in English language and literature from the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki and a Masters in Arts Management and Policy from the University of Maastricht. She has worked among others for the Biennale of Thessaloniki 2015, the State Museum of Contemporary Art in Thessaloniki and the Athens Digital Arts Festival. Today, Vanessa works as a freelance artist manager with an international clientele and writes regularly for established magazines. She is the co-founder of Azucar Artist Management Agency and the executive assistant of Azucar Magazine and Online Gallery.
